P4Y Learning About Vikings

The class are thoroughly enjoying their Viking project. They have been making shields and axes and weaving too. Their reading for information skills are being honed as they work on individual fact files and, as usual, they are enjoying ICT and such websites as BBC History to further enhance their knowledge.

The pupils have paired up to plan a lesson which will allow them to share their expert knowledge of one aspect of Viking life with the rest of the class. An amazing variety of active learning is planned as posters and models are created, dramas rehearsed and tricky questions for quizzes produced (to check the audience are paying full attention). We hope to have a Viking Festival next week to round off the project then look forward to moving on to studying Rivers which will include a visit to Vogrie and the River Esk.
