At the beginning of term P3 had a fantastic experience learning about the Royal family and weddings in preparation for Kate and William’s big day! This interdisciplinary topic took in Maths, Literacy, Design, Art and Music and culminated in our own Royal Wedding street party – complete with the national anthem and top table speeches. Many thanks go to all the parents who came to support this topic, both during the focus and to help create a real party atmosphere!
We are now focussing on learning about Ancient Egypt and we’ve really enjoyed all the information and artefacts that have been sent in from home. This topic features a strong research component as the children put the reading for information skills they have been learning all year into practice. We have been learning about 3D shapes and this led up to the children successfully designing a net to make a pyramid.
