Parents Meeting ‘Lots about Learning’ 2pm 21st March Lasswade Primary

 Parents are warmly invited to meet together to discuss educational matters which support our understanding of learning.

Our  topic this time is:  ‘Importance of developing spoken vocabulary in supporting Literacy Skills’

Research has demonstrated that the Spoken Language underpins Literacy.

Consistent daily attention to words is important as children learn 2000-3000  words per year.

This is an area which is critical to all pupils and there are simple researched techniques which support home and school assist children learn and embed new vocabulary.

So if you have some time and you don’t know your ‘goldilocks words’ from your ‘step on words’! Please join us at 2pm on Thursday 21st

We will also talk about the contents of the ‘Learning Help’ boxes which will be going into each classroom. These have been trialled by our Pupil Dyslexia Support Group
