Thank you to everyone who took part so enthusiastically in our One Planet Picnic on the 19th September. We were all very impressed with the variety of seasonal, local, organic, or ethical produce.
Primary 7X have had a great start to the year and have settled in school life again. We have started the session with a great IDL topic, Restaurants, in which we have learned about the various styles of cuisine and types of restaurants available, looked at examples of business logo’s and discussed what makes a good menu. Primary 2 have been learning about autumn and harvest. They have listened to a story about a scarecrow called Tattybogle. They then designed their own scarecrows in a field or made a large class scarecrow. They have investigated different foods produced in Scotland and some of the machines used to harvest these foods. They have also had fun making tractor tracks in the sand. Primary 2 are now very busy practising for their harvest assembly. They have words to learn as well as songs and actions. We look forward to sharing this with primary 2 parents, and the whole school, on Thursday 10th October.
Our primary threes set off yesterday on a walk on the old railway line. They were looking for clues to prove that the railway line used to exist in Bonnyrigg.
Kit list details attached.
Our P1’s collect their learning on leaves and display on their learning tree.
Our P4s are reading the novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dalh. See the chocolate factory they have designed in their classroom. Continue reading
