Another busy week in the nursery! Ms McHale took groups of children to the traffic lights to look at the pedestrian crossing. We talked about remembering to be safe near traffic and to always, always cross the road with an adult.
Our new water and sand tray arrived late last week and we have LOVED playing in it. There are lots of funnels and tubes to explore with coloured water and everyone was very excited to have the sand back too!
Mia and Calum brought their ‘can do’ hands back to nursery and enjoyed having their achievements read out to all of their friends. Rocky and Rory, our Eco bears, are off for the weekend with Finn and Blair – have a fun weekend doing lots of Eco jobs!
Next week we will be exploring the story ‘The Gruffalo’s Wean’ story.
Please see the attached flyer for the Christmas Fair.
It will take place on Saturday the 30th at Lasswade High School.
Tickets can be purchased by returning the tear off slip at the foot of the flyer.
Thanks for your continued support.
This week in Primary three the children have welcomed back Mrs Welsh as their class teacher. It’s been a busy time as the new block of masterclassses have got underway. The pupils have been enthusiastic about their choice of activity. They have been involved in cooking and tasting, a nail parlour, a Harry Potter Session and arts and crafts – only to name a few.
In art, the children have been learning how to make clay models and they have been carefully creating owls. They’ve been adding texture by adding a feather pattern. They will look lovely when they have been painted.
What a fantastic afternoon! As a final showcase, Primary 7 shared their Restaurant topic with their families today.
Both classes shared their presentation boards and ideas in a clear and confident manner. Mrs Briggs, Mrs Copland, Miss Singleton and Miss Dewar are extremely proud of every pupil in Primary 7 for their hard work and dedication, both during the topic and for the final showcase.
Well done to everyone at Lasswade Primary School for raising £517.42 for Children in Need on Friday. What a fantastic effort!!
The children looked amazing at assembly dressed in their onesies, pyjamas or dressed down. There were a few Pudsey’s faces too!!
Thanks to our Events and Media group who designed posters to raise awareness and also held a sponsored silence last week too.
We have been busy learning about Road Safety this week and have enjoyed listening to stories about Ziggy (an alien from the planet Cosmos!). He is reminding the boys and girls that they need to wait and hold hands with an adult before looking and listening for traffic. Continue reading
P7X have been busy with so much in the last few weeks that we have hardly noticed the time fly by! We really enjoyed a trip to Frankie and Benny’s on Tuesday 5th November to celebrate our restaurants topic. We enjoyed making and eating our pizza’s and smoothies at 10.30 in the morning. It was great fun and everyone learned a thing or two about the restaurant industry as we ate!
