As part of their work on Global Citizenship, Primary 4 took part in the Oxfam Message in a Book project. Every child wrote a letter addressed to Oxfam customers, explaining about the Millennium Development Goals and the important work of the charity itself.
The aim was to raise awareness amongst the public about the MDGs and Oxfam’s work in helping the world’s poorest people. Books donated by the children’s families were taken to the Oxfam shop in Dalkeith along with the letters, and a poster mentioning Lasswade Primary School is now on display in the shop.
One of the children’s letters will be given out to anyone who buys a book. The children were very motivated by writing real letters for such an important cause and they did an excellent job.
Well done Primary 4!
