Computer Game Design Events

I would like to highlight one particular event that is running on Saturday 18th Oct which may be of interest to your pupils.

We are very lucky to have Computer Xplorers running workshops on Computer Game Design in Lasswade Library on Sat 18th Oct.

Seniors – 9-13 yrs is 10am
Juniors – 5-8yrs is 11.15am

In this workshop participants will create their very own a computer game and share it online for others to play.
It is a really inspiring workshop for any kids who are interested in computers or computer games.

Word Potions (5-8 yrs)
Tuesday 14th October, 2pm, Loanhead Library, £2 Join Stephanie Taylor and stir up some words in a fizzy potion to create a fun science poem, song, acrostix or anything else you like.

Fantastic Science Stories (8-11 yrs)
Thursday 16th October, 2pm, Danderhall Library, £3 With scientist and writer Mhairi Stewart, and graphic artist Gary Erskine, you?ll be writing your own fascinating story using a clever grid method to mix up your science, characters and surroundings.

Weird Points of View (12 yrs to adult)
Thursday 16th October, 3:30pm, Danderhall Library, £3 With scientist and writer Mhairi Stewart, and graphic artist Gary Erskine, this workshop will be covering storyboarding- writing and drawing ideas out in a format suitable for film- from unusual points of view. A malaria parasite trying to survive in a human host, or the road feeling the cars travelling along itself; there are many sides to a story, and we will be illustrating that here.

Lasswade Primary Yearbook

It looks fantastic! A massive well done and thank you to last year’s Yearbook Monday Mingle Group who worked so hard with Mrs Stevenson and also to Caitlin Gosman’s dad for publishing and binding.

seaside-clipart-k0992106After a great summer, we have welcomed back our returning children and are delighted to meet our new children starting their first term at Lasswade Nursery.

We began the term with our seaside theme, looking at sea creatures through story, song and craft activities.
