P1 News

teddy-bearWhat a super start is has been to Primary 1! We are lucky to have such enthusiastic pupils who are very eager to learn. Everybody is settling in and adapting well to new routines.

Last week Primary 1 had a very exciting delivery – a big box which contained the ‘Very Important Bear’. He arrived to start off our ‘Toys’ theme and gave the children a challenge which asked them to save his toy factory which unfortunately might be closing down! Using ‘The Very Important Bear’ as a stimulus, children will learn about forces, materials and toys from the past. We are looking forward to sharing the children’s learning on Wednesday 8th October when we will hold a ‘Toys’ afternoon. Further information will follow in a letter.

Primary 1 have also been busy learning letters and numbers. We have been doing lots of number work linked to our ‘Toys’ learning and have been working hard on the ‘Jolly Phonics’ sounds. Thanks to everybody for their continuing support at home.

We are all very much looking forward to an exciting year ahead in Primary 1.
