P2 have had a very busy first term! They have just come to the end of their Harvest topic and have presented their Harvest assembly to their parents/carers and the whole school. Throughout this topic we did lots of exciting activities such as making fruit faces in the style of Arcimboldo. We have also gone on an Autumn walk around the playground and used our senses to take in the changes in the environment during this season.
Throughout this term we have also focused on different aspects of Visible Learning. We have discussed what makes a Successful Learner, Growth and Fixed Mindsets and the Learning Pit. Lately, we have read the stories ‘The Girl who Never Makes Mistakes’ and ‘Beautiful Oops’ to discuss the importance of making mistakes and realising that we can learn from them. We created our own pictures which started as a mistake and were turned into something beautiful.
Recently, P2 have also started taking part in football sessions on a Thursday morning in association with Tesco Bank Football Programme. This is great fun and the children really enjoy it!
We are looking forward to what next term brings and hope you all have a lovely and restful October holiday.
