Midstock – Saturday 12 September, Dalkeith Country Park

 The hugely popular Midstock music festival is set to be bigger and better in 2015, with 11 acts headlined by the Fratellis, Fish and the Hoosiers.  Adult tickets are normally £40 but you can snap them up for £25…a saving of £15!  Visit www.midstockfestival.com Make your selection and enter the code MIDSTOCK25 at the checkout to receive your discount.

Midfest Family Fun Day – Sunday 13 September, 11.30am until 7pm

Dalkeith Country Park

Attractions include the Royal Scots Pipe Band, Taiko Drummers, Funbox, Domestics, Skababs, Milestone, Beeslack High School Band and Samba Band, St David’s Brass Band.  There’ll also be food and drink, fairground attractions, arts and crafts stalls, and a community safety village.  Although the fun day is free, it is a ticketed event.  Visit www.midlothian.gov.uk/midfest to book

Cycling and Scootering

Just to let you know that no one should be scootering in the playground at the start or the end of the day.

Please also ensure that you are wearing a helmet to keep you safe.

Also, there should be no ball games in the playground before the start of the school day as there are no adults to supervise.

Cycle Programme

Your school has been part of the UPower cycle programme this term and your pupils have shown enthusiasm to Get Midlothian Cycling. Therefore, I would like to offer the opportunity to P5-7 pupils to take part in the UPower summer school Bikeability training.

It is a free 2-day club for those who missed out on Bikeability training in school or would like to build on the skills they already have. Members are invited to come along to RUTS and earn their Level 2 badge. The following is full information for parents:

Free 2-day Bikeability Level 1 and 2 course
Learn how to cycle safely on the road. Everyone who takes part will receive a badge and certificate!
When : 10am – 3pm – Tue 11 – Wed 12 July
Where : RUTS (beside the Mining Museum), Newtongrange
Who : Age 9 – 12
