Congratulations Lasswade Primary School!!
We have received the top award from Fairtrade UK and have the certificate to prove it.
A huge thank you to all the children who have and continue to support Fairtrade in our school and to all the staff who have contributed to achieving this award, particularly Mr Rae.
Lasswade will now continue to build on our Fairtrade efforts and on the knowledge that our children have.
Well done everyone!!!
She will deliver two assemblies to the children providing a Fairtrade update, details on the work of the One World Shop and information about a paper-making project in Nepal called Get Paper Industries.
Our P6 pupils attended the Fairtrade 7 Aside Football cup at New Dundas Park today alongside other local primary schools. It was a mixed event with both boys and girls playing together. Lasswade were playing in yellow and representing the African nation of Kenya.
The tuck shop will continue at break on Tuesdays for P1-P3 and Wednesdays for P4-P7 in the New Year. Snacks range from 25p to 60p and there is a variety of snacks and drinks to choose from. This terms favourites have been jully teddies, chocolate smarties and the choc n’ toffee bars.
Our P7 pupils are working well to run the tuck shop and keep stock records up to date.
We hope this success will continue into 2014.
What a busy term P6X have had!!! We have now completed the novel The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas with only the DVD to watch in the last week of term.
The children looked amazing at assembly dressed in their onesies, pyjamas or dressed down. There were a few Pudsey’s faces too!!
Thanks to our Events and Media group who designed posters to raise awareness and also held a sponsored silence last week too.
The Tradey Treats tuck shop has been open for two weeks now and has been very busy indeed!! Our P7 pupils are doing a great job of serving the children, replenishing stocks, recording what has been sold and handling the money. Thank you for giving up your break times so readily.
So far the best sellers have been the cola bottles, the jelly teddies and the choc n’ toffee bars!!
We have had over 150 children join our Co-Operative and membership cards and details have been issued to all members.
Don’t forget the tuck shop is open to P1-3 on a Tuesday and P4-7 on a Wednesday.
Thank you for your support so far.
After the success of our Friday Focus groups last year, we have launched Monday Mingles this year offering our P3-P7 pupils a range of exciting learning experiences and the opportunity to work across age stages and with a variety of teachers.
